Reverse wire location

I'm getting ready to put in my new double din and it said to hook the wire for the camera up to the reverse light wire.

Anyone know which one this is on the harness coming out of the column?

Thanks

No help but the one that says ebrake just ground out

Looks to be a black wire with a pink tracer, but it's not on the column.

Here's a wiring diagram for the 2002:

I'm about to do the same thing. Can someone clarify for me where the wire is?

i want to clarify my earlier post
when you hook the wire specified as ebrake to a ground it will allow you to watch dvd's in motion

Ya, I'm going to do the "Parking" wire to a positive so I can do stuff while in drive, but I'm going to have a back up camera. Where is the black/pink wire under the dash? If at all.

Trey,

Did you ever find the mysterious black/pink wire under the dash?

I too am seeking the location of this wire inside the cab.

Unfortunately, I don't believe I can defeat my reverse sensor as the radio I purchased shuts off the bluetooth phone feature when the backup camera is active.

If memory serves is a black/pink wire coming out of the column. Let me go look.

Yep there it is.. Goodness. Some of my early wiring was terrible. Maybe I will fix it.

Thanks for the pictures.

I spent a few minutes under the steering column and found a group of wires coming out of the wheel shroud that included a black wire with a pink stripe. The wires terminate into a brown plug.

I've attached two pictures - one for perspective and one closer up.

Assuming I found the correct wire, I hope this helps others.

I'll confirm that I located the correct black/pink wire when the camera arrives and I start my install.

So did djed ever confirm this wire worked for his reverse camera?
I'm installing one this weekend.

The black/pink is the wire. But I'll let him know to follow up.

I took power for the reverse lights and ground off of the 7 pin trailer harness back by the bumper. Then I ran the positive wire up along the frame rail with my A/V cable in a wire loom to signal the radio when the truck was in reverse. Little extra wire but I was running the A/V wire anyway and I didn't have to worry about tapping in under the dash. I made the camera only powered when the truck was in reverse. I know some guys might like it hot all the time or on a switch to be able to power it so they can see behind them while they are driving with trailers and such.
