can anyone tell me how to identify my tranny,
Auto or manual?
If it is original the code in the door jam will tell you. Otherwise you will have to give us more info. Auto/manual, OD? If it is an auto, the there are prety much 3 options. Most likely an AOD, EAOD, or C6. I don't think it would be a C4. If no OD then it is a C6. If it has push button OD then it would be an EAOD. If it has OD and no way to keep it in 2 and the the selector reads PRN(D)D1 then it is likely an AOD. Some guys on here can also tell you by the bolt pattern on the pan. Hope this helps!

E4OD, not EAOD.
Correct, E4OD
tranny is auto with push button on/off OD
Should be an E4OD then
ok thanks, got to replace flex plate, dont know if it matters what tranny, but its behind a 302
I don't know how much those cost new but you might be able to find 1 at a junk yard for next to nothing. What did you do to it that you need to replace your flex plate?
replaced engine, rebolted tranny without lining up converter with flex plate, figured it poped it, making a kinda clicking sound
bought a new one for 50 bucks, gonna replace tomorrow
Thanks for the info guys:-wink |
