i-pod adapter for 2001 F250

Has anyone installed an ipod adapter on their truck? Is it an easy DIY? Thanks

I would just stay simple, If you still have the cassette player in your truck, then I would get a cassette adaptor. I have used it for a couple years now, and my friends keep trying to borrow it from me. Here is a link, you can just go get one from target or wal-mart

The casset is a great way to do it. If its available I put one in my 2006 F-250, truck has the 6 disc changer with the "AUX" button on it. This company P.I.E. had a nice little adapter that made the button stereo accept audio in style jacks. Just put that in, ran the head phone style jack that went to audio jacks and it works great! That cost me about $50 and an hour to put it. This you do need to get the radio out so the whole dash face has to come off which is easy to do just becareful as the clips can break easily along with some of the electrical connections. The converter sits nicly behind the radio and has worked great for about 2 years now. PIE :: Precision Interface Electronics good luck

For around $150 give or take you can upgrade your stock head unit which will work with your Ipod. The head unit I bought has face mounted USB and Aux ports which your Ipod can plug into or you can put all your music on a thumb drive and bypass the Ipod. You will get better sound quality with the new head unit also. Just thought I'd put the idea out there.

Second on the P.I.E. helped a friend with one, very nice interface.

Yes the P.I.E. is a good system, I prefered that over the different head becasue I like the stock look better then the other head styles out there but I am sure they are better then the stock stereo. With the PIE it is similar to a CD sound quality accept you can get a little more volume out of it as it has gain settings and the Ipod volume too. They have units for alot of different applications too like 2001 vs 2006....

I agree, I like the look of stock. I wish I had the CD changer P.I.E. compatible stock unit, I've considered getting one on e-bay. I don't like most of the aftermarket units. I too know the sound may be better, but I think they now all look like they are intended for drivers much younger than me! :'(

Go to a wrecker and find a focus up to about 2005 the radio is a direct swap in! just plug and play six disc changer and aux input. usaully cheaper than 100 bucks and look just like yours.
