Good Tune/Programmer?

I'm looking to get a tuner/programmer (not sure if theres a difference). I would like one that will let me switch between economy and power relatively easy. Also going back to stock easily would be nice.

Any recommendations?

A lot of folks on here are happy with their DP tuners. Jodi at DP can build you custom tunes (specific to your year, model, version, personal modifications, etc etc) as opposed to just giving you a 'general' tune that they hope works with your truck, e-mail you new programs that you can upload via USB, offers 'live tuning' at tech days and it gives you the ability to switch between programs on the fly.

There are a ton of threads on this topic though - so I highly recommend using the [Search] button at the top of the screen, or checking out their web site.

There are a few others as well, which I'm sure someone will be happy to mention momentarily.

Also - check the sticky threads for 'common mods'.

This question comes up a lot... it's right up there with "What size tires will fit on my truck?" and "what should I mod first?"

Edit: And to answer your question - a tuner is typically a chip that works in conjunction with your oem ECU, where as a programmer makes adjustments to the ECU itself. With a tuner or chip, all you have to do to return to stock is unplug it. This is also handy for troubleshooting if you're ever worried that your programming is causing a problem.

What type of motor/year is your truck? That will help with the recommendations.

There's also SCT tuned by MIke at 5 Star.

It's a 2002 f250 with the 7.3

Just realized you're in Ventura. I'm out that way at least one weekend a month for work. I drive a 7.3 with modifications listed in my signature. It's still very much a work in progress, but you're welcome to take a look next time I'm out there.
