95 F150 4x4 front spindle/axle/seals/thrust washer/bearings?
The parts houses don't seem to have a thrust washer that goes on the spindle after the outer wheel bearing. Does any one know where to get one or a substitute?
Also the seal for the spindle needle bearing does not come with the bearing. I found one at Rock Auto parts, but wonder how necessary this seal is? |
If the parts place does not have the washer go to your dealer
AS for the little $2 spindle bearing seal. I have yet to see one stay in place ... ever! I just pack a crap load of grease in there to try to help keep water out. |
gees, I paid 6 bucks for the 2 $ seal ...
that never stays in place.
I did pack a crap load of grease in there also so maby I'm good for a while. Also I changed the sequance of the lock nuts and lock washer. Used the lock washer first in place of the thrust washer, then both nuts. I live in the Ozark Mtn boonies and am following the weather service instructions to watch for a tornado (haven't seen one yet). I'll take a trip into town when it they tell me I can stop watching, and see if the dealer has more than the current year washer in stock... thanks, JIm |
