Cruise and horn don't work

95 f-350 cc, neither the cruise or horn work, bought the truck that way a few months ago. I checked continuity from the horn switch to the relay connection, was good. If i jump the relay connector the horn sounds. Relay must not be getting power to 87 or 85 ? , I forget which was to the horn switch. Relay is good, swapped with fuel pump relay to check. Any ideas? Dont know where to start with the cruise...

Have a similar problem, Except all of mine works. When I was searching for answers, I came across a post from FTE from july 2010. Someone mentioned Bad clockspring, I think Lazy K was the contributor, in Steering wheel column. I wish I was on my other computer or I would give you the link. there are some diagnostics and if you don't find it, I will search later this evening for the link and Post back.

EDIT: Does the Airbag light flash? If so, this is it. If the airbag light doesn't come on with startup, bulb may be burned out too.

A lot of people in the past, just ignored the light, and it would eventually burn out since it always flashed.

Sounds a lot like a clock spring, especially if the horn sounds when the relay is manually activated. I replaced one recently in my son's 94 Bronco with a junkyard part. Just make sure to check continuity on the junkyard piece before installing it to save a second trip!

it doesnt have an airbag, and i do have continuity on the horn circuit from the horn button to the relay.

Thanks, I'd appreciate that. I have been searching, and found some wiring diagrams on here for cruise and horn on similar years, but cant figure out what i'm missing. I'm assuming the two problems are related .

I located the thread here on FTE. I was mistaken with Lazy K as a contributor to the thread, but none the less, he is still a very knowledgable contributor to all of FTE.

If you scroll down to 87crewdually, he has the Document posted. If you don't have Microsoft Word, you will need to download a file viewer. Was easy and simple to do so!

I hope this helps!

If you have a problem with the document, I will adapt it to a text file for easier viewing.

Thanks, there's a lot of good diagnostics there! I failed step one though, test the horn. Should there be power on 2 relay contacts for the horn relay? I have 12v on the feed that opens when the relay is energized, but shouldn't there be 12v on the signal for it when the relay is pulled?
