hello, new to this site and have an annoying problem with my truck i recently bought. my 1989 f250 460 auto c6 2wd runs great with remand motor and drives good until heats up a little bit, then at low rpm going in to 2nd gear there is a shudder.ive searched all answers and searched for info this problem but all i can come up with info for is over drive trans. but promblem is identical. i would like to know if it possible to connect a switch to control lock up on torque converter.please help if you can, or have any other suggestions. all answers will be greatly appreciated. thanks:-banghead

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think your C6 uses a lockup converter.
|
You are 100% correct, no converter lockup on a C6.
I would suggest checking the band adjustment followed by dropping the pan, cleaning it and the filter, draining the torque converter and refilling the trans with fresh fluid. |
Thanks for backing up my statement! :-drink

thanks for replying to my question, and do you think the band adjustment might help me?thanks

How does it shift? Does it shift quickly like a normal C6 should, or kinds of sliiiides in gear?
|
Adjusting the band may well help. It must be done correctly and once done certainly won`t hurt.
