Unibody Body to Frame Mounts
I've been looking at the '61-63 cab to frame mount sets in a few catalogs, and they don't seem to be the same as what is on our '62 shortbed unibody (which seems original/unmodified). Are the sets for non-unibody and unibody the same? And are the bed rubber insulators the same as well?
Also, a previous owner installed wood 'spacers' in a few of the attachment places where there is more clearance between the frame and bed than just the thin, square insulators. What should be there....I can't imagine wood came from the factory. I can't seem to find a clear illustration showing the unibody mounting parts. Any help would be appreciated. |
Yep! wood from the factory. from what i understand the unibody's do not have rear cab mounts.

Bill is correct. Wood is from Ford on rear.
check Carolina Customs for the mounts. |
Both my wrong bed 4x4s have wood blocks for support under the bed support braces that dont touch the frame. If you replace these with wood I would suggest a type of hardwood. That is what the spacers in mine appear to be made of.
