GTG IN JUNE ANYONE?

So June 11th my group is having a truck and tractor pull here in Elk River and the county fairgrounds. Does this sound appealing at all? I have the tractor but anyone want to pull your truck? I can get you the forms and such. All the proceds go to 4H and second harvest food bank. I'm not sure if I'm over stepping my bounds at all being the FNG but i thought I'd throw it out there.

Tom just delete your group name (just leave it as group not letters before it) and you will be good to go. Are you talking pulling one of those big trailers with the moveable cart on top. Not sure if I want to abuse my tow vehicle like that but maybe we could get enough people to do some Diesel Dirt Drags, I am in for that, LOL

I am already booked that weekend so I am out but that sounds like a lot of fun. I love watching the pulls! Drags would be cool too!

I will have to check our calendar and see if that is open. Like Tom M. said I won't do a pull but I would for sure come and watch if I can.

FYI we won't hold it against you that you're the FNG...

I can understand not wanting to pull your tow vehicle, I don't pull mine besides the fact that its a 6.9, i just need a ride home incase the tractor breaks.

heres video from another pull of ours

Looks like a good time, my brother has a 'red' tractor with Red River Valley Pullers. On their schedule there is nothing for that weekend but it's a good haul from here to there. I'm actually in the process of building a modified 'blue' one with the 9600 sheet metal, larger than the 401 engine, and lighter than 6500lbs }>.

Tom, since you've got a 9600 yourself, I thought about this thread I posted some pictures of a turbo swap we did on our farm 9600, this one is stock besided the turbo swap. Anything done to yours?

You did some nice work there sir! :-X22 I have injectors that will flow 400cc a 9.5mil pump off a tw30,(it should be around 220hp}> im told there may be a dyno that goes to 215 at our pull ill have to try it out) that small excuse of a turbo to overspeeds and cavitates, so i have a holset hx35(i think) off an 91 dodge 5.9. its the small base so its a bolt on sort of affair. i can shoot you some pics when i get it on in the next few weeks. That little 3ld is a pretty sad turbo ive seen bigger impellers when i took the wifes vacuum apart

The pulls at Elk River are always intersting especially if the sled breaks like it did last year or the year before. I am alos just waiting for someone to take out the corn dog stand at the end of the track. I almost did with a buddies 5020 once a few years back.

Pretty sure I will be fishing on Superior that weekend.

I was the 9600 hooked to the 1066. It started power hopping so bad it took forever for my foot to find the clutch pedal that kept moving. The ford drove away and the ih got stuck between gears

I remember that. It was the most interesting pull I have seen.
