2wd front wheel bearings?
 

Okay guys, passenger front wheel bearing is done for one the 2wd Supercrew. A simple thought on these bearings design is that they are the most godawful thing I have ever dealt with.

I have on order, the integrated rotor/ hub assembly, and a new axle nut.

I havent taken this apart yet, but I see on Autozones website when I click "bearings" that there is an old school looking bearing on there. Is there another bearing in this contraption that doesnt come as part of the rotor? In other words, is there an inner and outer, with the rotor side being the outer? Thanks in advance.

Only option I've seen is the Centric's hubs (uses a 4x4 rotor on special hub) but the issue of 1 piece units is something we have to live with. I've got it even worse, mine is a heavy half so it's got the 7 lug hubs so they're even more pricey. Wish there was a way to just replace the bearings.

Okay, after checking into it more, it appears that the piece I ordered is all I will need. My biggest issue at this point is finding a 600 pound torque wrench.

I used a 4:1 multiplier and a 250 lb. torque wrench that I borrowed from a friend.

Why a 600 pound one it needs to be torqued to 295 foot pounds

Well,I have done mine already,and it was a piece of cake. 89 dollars apiece,plus the cost of hardware kit. I got it at O'Rieleys Auto parts. That was 6 lug. And the torq was around 300 hundred pounds,not 600.

Okay, I was not aware of a 300 ft lb torque wrench. This is just as rare an animal as what I was looking for orginally. The proper torque for the axle nut is 296 lbs I beleive. I am going to chec some equipment rental places around the house.

Okay, just finished. Apparently it was something I was scaring myself over because I have never dealt with it before. It was actually easier then my 2 piece Ram bearing.Its cheaper too, even with the sockets (2) I had to buy and the $20 nylon locking nut. I originally bought a regular 36mm socket, then read everywhere that a deep socket was needed, so I bought one of those too. I did the whole job with the regular socket, and had plenty of clearance. I will keep the deep socket though, in case it is needed for a different job or on a different vehicle.
