400 intake gasket

Im putting my 400 back together and I have two intake gaskets. One is the valley pan gasket and the other is a standerd type of intake gasket. The valley pan gasket has some holes in for exaust gas or somthing. The other standerd gasket does not have these holes that go to the exhaust stuff in the heads. I guess these holes are for some emission stuff. I have a non egr intake so Im not sure if the holes even matter. Can I use the standerd gasket that block off these passages in the heads?
Thanks, Jaret

you can use the gaskets but i would use the valley pan because it keeps the hot oil from being splashed on the bottom of the intake and helps keep the fuel cool if there are no emissions you could even plug off those exaust passages.

The metal pan is a better deal if evrything is square. The holes in the middle of the intake holes is for the heat crossover and help in warm up. For street use leave them open.
