scooby van pics

hey y'all

these are some pics of the my 66 falcon. its got some rust but i can't gripe
it was a "free to a good home" deal. i hope they came out ok i'm a bit of a dummy when comes to the computer stuff. i have the side mldgs though the clips are beat. the side cover i'm making will require the fuel line to be rerouted and the seat will need to move forward on the legs about 1".
it pulls 60 in 6 and that's with a brisk accel not a launch.
(drive shaft is a bit soft so i gotta be gentle for now) goal is 15 sec 1/4.
that may be a bit optimistic but it something to shoot for anyway.
i dig this forum i can see their is a lot of very knowledgeable people here and i'm learning a bunch of stuff about these old cruisers just want say thanks. svj

Looks great. You have one of the early extended vans. So it should have the rectangle taillights.
The engine is what I plan to do to one of my trucks I have. I read where people have to modify the doghouse. Now I seen pics of why. This would mean maybe not having a front seat in my truck on that side.
Got a great starting project.

thanks 66gpw
your correct, i goofed the rear view pic somehow but it has the rectangular lights without reverse lights. your also correct about the seat. i was going to use an English wheel to form the side cover (pretty curves and all) but the lid was not going to be so easy. hence a box. (still under construction) it could be fit, but tight.i added space for heat insulation so mine is an interference with the back of the seat back. simple answer, remount the seat on 1"X1"X1/4" angle iron. i'll move it fwd 1" or 2". same legs same seat or one like it, mine's pretty beat but i think their is enough to work with.

scooby up date

ol' scoob is nearing a mile stone most all the body is welded in and the engine cover is done. replumbed the fuel system and will repair the seat broken drivers seat frame. the engine cover required is done the seat needed 2 attempts at the relocation second one is about 3" forward. still has ok leg room. but later on a better engine cover mod will allow it to back to the 1" mod. i'll post more picks at that time via a new thread.
