Want a mass air conversion kit for 1990 35w with e40d
I am looking for a mass air conversion for a 1990 351w with a e40d trany. Any ideas. I have thought about getting the donor parts from a junkyard off of a 1996 but I am not for sure if it will work. Any thoughts or kits you are aware of.

I am looking for the same thing.... seems like all the conversion kits I have seen out there are for the AOD instead of the E4OD

Here's the one I was looking at. They've got 2 listed, and only one indicates AOD so I'm assuming that means the other is for E4OD?

The other one is for 5sp/C6. There is another one for 351 E4OD that uses 2 processors. One for the engine and the other for the tranny. Kit has a harness to adapt. If you have the catalog it's on page 103.

I don't have a jegs catalog so if you could give us the part # it would be of great help. Thank you

Tried to get a similar kit for a 5.0 but still on backorder. |

Went to summit and found that part number. It is a conversion for the Lightning only. I assume that it will not work with mine. Any Ideas.

Why do you want a mass air conversion? If you are looking into mods, you use a chip programmed for the mods you do. It's quite a bit cheaper than a mass air conversion.

The mass air conversion does multiple things that a chip can't do. The first is what the chip can do which is let the engine mods work at there peak performance. The chip does it based on programming where the mass air does it because it reads exactly what the engine is doing much better than the speed density system does. Because of this, if I make future changes to my engine, then I have to change the chip again. The mass air just keeps on reading the new mods and adjusts for them. Also the mass air is a great MPG improvement. It allows each injector to fire individually instead of bank firing, which means better efficiency. Just look at the difference in the mileage between the early 90's broncos and then the 1996. The early 1990's broncos are lucky to get 12-13 mpg on the expressway. I average 10-11 with a newly rebuilt engine. Everyone I have talked to with a 1996(mass air) gets 14+. Thats a 25-30 percent increase which is quite substantial.
