56 ford "big job" cab over engine truck. Decent shape, very little rust and pretty much complete.
The best year for ford trucks- would be the ultimate car hauler, flat bed, hot rod, rat rod, toy toter, whatever you want to call it.
Put it on a modern chassis and ride in style. Not many 56 cabovers out there. Email me with your number and the best time to call.

'51-'52 coe for you

Hey flattie,

Here's a '51-'52 cab over I came across on CL. It is listed as a '47, but is clearly newer. It is in Medford, OR.

1947 Ford COE

good luck,

BH

That one is a '52, BH. It's listed as a cab and chassis, but I only see cab and fenders. No chassis. I hope the rest of it is there someplace.

The 56 is listed in the Yakima craigslist as being in Wapato, a little farther east. Being a Big Job, it's going to be heavy, and shipping would not be pretty. If I didn't already have a lifetime's worth of projects, I might be interested. Here's a couple different pics.

Good to know Wayne, thanks for the info. I'd be interested too if only I had the space for a big truck. There is something about those old COE's...

iwanaflattie 03-14-2011 12:38 AM

thanks guys I really want that 52 COE...only if someone held it for me...

badger_hound 03-14-2011 12:47 AM

Why not ask the owner if you can pay for storage for a few months?

Or the possibility of delivery?

iwanaflattie 03-14-2011 12:52 AM

that is a possibility but i dont trust people on CL that well.and i dont think I can arrange a trip that far so soon.
The price is just right tho.

badger_hound 03-14-2011 01:01 AM

I agree, you always have to be careful... maybe you could find someone who lives nearby to check it out for you. Wish I could help with that, but I'm too far south!

iwanaflattie 03-14-2011 01:09 AM

Yeah I wish someone here could help. Thanks for the kind thoughts tho Badger

What is it with people bending up the roof on these cabs???? That 52 looks like they tried to lift the whole truck with a cable thru the doors....ouch! There is one almost identical to it for sale here locally.....has the same damage to the roof. I thought about buying it, but I really don't need another project.....(that means I'll probably buy it anyway)

vintage56....15 mpg is pretty good...how much you think that COE weighs? 8k?:-X10}> And don't forget about all those pesky mountains to cross!:)
