Installing Mustang II front end in my 55 F100

My setup is from CPP. I went with the 2" drop spindles and the air bag setup and I am going to weld in the cross member tomorrow and I was curious what others have done to find there "ride height." Im just looking fow what others have done and tried before I make a mistake someone else has already made. My hardest dicision is finding my ride height so that I can level my cross member.

I have always heard that the bottom of the front bumper should be barbie doll height.. 11 inches.

hoping my MII kit arrives this week.

It's all preset in the cross member. Just weld it in. It will sit fine, especially with the 2" spindles. If you want it slammed when the bags are drained, notch the frame an 1" and install the crossmember. I've used CPP's kits for years, quality stuff.

With the Mustang II kits out, you won't get the bottom of the front bumper to sit at 11". Usually it ends up with the TOP of the bumper in the 10-11" range.

I have the Heidt's cross member and with the Wilwood Pro spindle stock height spindles the bottom of my front bumper is 6" for the ground.

You need to decide how you are going to set up the rear end first. Then set the x-mem so it is level with the ground.

ok, TOP of the bumper at 11!..

Any one have any pictures as to where they welded the upper shock tower and there bump stop for the airbag setup. Most of the write ups i look at either do not have pics or the pics have been deleted.
