cleaning stainless steel

Do anyone know of a product I could use to clean up stainless steel, I have some original items that are tarnished but in good shape.
Thanks

May sound crazy but I've used penetrating oil on stainless at work.

I use 00 grade steel wool. Works great...:)

I used a commercial wool buffing pad on a harbor freight buffer with a good polishing rouge to buff all the scratches etc out. You have to take the stainless off anyway so why not polish it up while it is off. I use leather gloves safety glasses and a resperator to keep all the fines out of my lungs while polishing. After a bit of work you can even press dents out and blend the wrinkels out for the most part. Mothers polish will work with a whole lot of work. Neuvite polish works great if done in several stages. I will have to go to the shop to see what the other stuff is. I think it has pumice in the mix but am not sure.
