Hazards don't work (resolved)
My hazard flashers don't work. All turn signals and other lights work, but when I push down the switch for the hazards, I get nothing. Is the switch bad? What else could it be?
hmmm, I remember my hazards did not work once. As I remember it was a fuse that blew after I had a trailer plugged, IIRC
There is a separate flasher unit for the hazards, If memory serves it is the one on the top side of the fuse box under the dash..
It should be on the back side of the fuse box and is separate from turn flasher
The flasher you can see in the fuse panel is for the turn signals the one for the hazards is on the back of the panel. You have to get to it from under the dash.
Okay. I took a look at it today, and found the thing you guys are talking about. It was on the back of the fuse panel. It's a metal cased thing that says Wagner 552 on it, and it bears Motorcraft part number D2AB-13350-AA.
Is that the correct fuse? Pics incoming. |

Man you have some long toes! j/k, lol
That looks like a flasher to me. Is that the same flasher as the turn signals? That may even be the same one I don't know on our truck (haven't been there , yet....knock on wood). If you can try to exchange them and see if one is bad. |
I went and got a new fuse and now the hazards work. Thanks, everybody. I didn't even know that there was a fuse back there, haha.

fuses blow for a reason, too much heat (amperage) make sure you figure out why it blew

Mine flashers on my camper blink real slow. Is there a so-called heavy duty one? Without the camper they blink normal.
I just got a cheapo one from AutoZone, but he did try to sell me a heavy duty/long life one.
I'll check that Joseph, thanks.

get an electronic one if you have a lot of trailer lights. I don't remember the part number on mine but both of them are a little bigger, have clear housings and you can see the insides. They say electronic on the side. They made mine all flash normal again regardless of how many lights I have on.
