ashtray (2002 HD)
 

does anybody know how to remove the ashtray on a 2002 harley davidson edition ?
the spring (clip) fell off the back and i need to put it back on.

Take a flat head screw driver and there is 2 tabs(on each side).Pry them down and pull at the same time.You can use 2 screws to put the spring back on and dont have to worry about it breaking off any more

Take it to ford and tell them RECALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!! just kiding hope the prev. answer helps

I ended up unbolting half the dash in order to get to the bolts on the ashtray housing .
but my end results where the same , I put 2 screws through the spring .
Wish i would of got your reply before i tore half my dash apart !.... lol

Lol..Yea you didnt have to take it all apart..Glad ya got it fixed
