Gear Ratio

I have a 1992 F150 4x4 with 302 5 speed and 3.55 gears and want 33" tires. How do you think this will do with these gears and those tires.

Shouldn't be to bad, but it will defenently be abit sluggish.

Staveys150 03-01-2011 06:11 PM

i second that. it will probly be better than my sluggish 302 auto running 33s

With a 302 and 33s , i would run 4.56 gears....Lew

Staveys150 03-01-2011 06:55 PM

sorry to :-hijacked but what would the rpm's be at 60 with 4:56's in a 302 auto and 33s

Will Chiello 03-01-2011 07:37 PM

Thanks Guys. What gears would bring the truck back to stock driving conditions with the 33" tires.

hav24wheel 03-01-2011 07:53 PM

4.11s is "stock" and 4.56s are 11% lower that "stock" with 33s

Bigger tires can help you crawl up those slick rocks, look cool, and rob you of power. TIRE SIZE CHANGE CALCULATOR

Can Skinnier Tires Increase Fuel Economy?
