go to walmart and buy an aftermarket radio sony pioneer or whatever u want. then buy the install kit and follow the directions. its actually pretty simple

thanks had a feeling but wanted to make sure

no problem. the install kits have everything you need to install...just dont cut your factory harness to accommodate the install.... many people do this and its a huge mistake

ok thanks again ill be sure not to

I did exactly this a few years ago.Got a cheapie unit from Wally World along w/the install harness. You cannot believe how easy this makes it! This is coming from a guy who HATES anything to do w/wiring~there's no cutting/splicing/messing up involved. The nice part is if you ever wanted to sell the truck and put back the stock unit, it literally takes less than 5 minutes. BTW, another huge benefit of doing this is that even the cheapest units that you'll buy will have an Ipod jack in it. Kindof brings our gen. trucks into the 21century!

I've got the same "problem". I just bought a '93 F150 XLT and somebody took the radio out. Not a big deal. Harness was not harmed. BUT, when checking my local WalMart, the mount kits didn't list anything for '93. Don't remember, but seems like maybe '97 and newer. So, I guess I'll have to go in with the radio cavity dimensions and see what I come out with.

Guess I'll look online and see what pep boys have. No stores in my area! By the way, Wally World had radio mount kits AND wiring harness adapters (GM, Ford, etc). If you can't find it in one of their stores, they may list it online.
