Cylinder head torque sequence V8

Hey Guys! Cant seem to find the sequence to torque down the head bolts on my 351C. Everywhere I look :-tap says "follow factory sequence"... even the rebuild book I bought :-banghead. Can someone give me the break down of sequence and how far to go each time. Also, is there a sequence for the mains as well? Thanks Guys!!

WOW : I agree thought I would try and help you out and find it in writing for you but no luck. I found out the same thing "follow factory sequence". Only other one I found, stated he does a X pattern. Try posting in the 351C section here. Sorry no help from me.

torque for intake...

Heres what I have from a Haynes manual for 302/351 and429/460 engines.
It makes sense when you look at it, it's all about even pressure on the gasket.
You should do the sequence working up to the final torque setting in three steps.
Are you using the "guide pin" method for the intake install? Go out and buy bolts
that fit the block and hacksaw the heads off to a length where you can unscrew them by
hand once the manifold is in place...makes for an easy install.Torque settings for a
5/16th bolt are about 20-25 ft-LBS and for a 3/8th bolt they should be 30-35 ft-lbs.

Here it is...also have a look where it mentions having to re-torque
head bolts on 351C when hot...they recommend tightening the head bolts
in 3 to 5 stages...that's how I did mine....hope this helps.

Awesome.. thanks guys!

I always start in the middle and go in a spiral
10 6 2 3 7
.9 5 1 4 8
Thats pretty similar to the manual but less chance of missing one.

just looked at the manual again and thats not like most that have you criss-crossing top to bottom as you work your way to the outside, but I think you get the idea
