1962 F100 Parts Manual

Hi, we just purchased a '62 f100 unibody, which was disassembled for painting by the previous owner, now deceased. Our biggest task will be reassembling after painting. I have been scouring the web for a parts manual, preferrably on CD, and oddly enough I can't seem to find one.

Can anyone help guide us to somewhere to get a parts manual for our truck? I have found with our past projects the illustrations in these manuals have been invaluable in figuring out how to put our projects back together correctly.

Thanks, and I look forward to being associated with ford-trucks.com.

these photos were taken in the original owner's (deceased) back yard, two years after he stopped work because of his illness.

Wow that looks like a really solid body. How are the front cab mounts and the core support? Theses seem to be the places that go first.

62 squire 02-18-2011 11:34 AM

I haven't become the unibody nerd I am sure I'll be in a few weeks/months, but in crawling around underneath the body mounts are all good....though the rubber (insulators?) may need to be replaced. I noticed one square rubber piece split down the middle.

The underside as a whole looks great, though it looks as if it were pressure washed and degreased and then left for two years....there is a light rust coating on most of the underside, but no major rust damage that I can see on the initial inspection. No holes for sure.

We haven't actually picked up the truck....will have possession this weekend, though. Any specific things to look for would be appreciated.

Is there a particular spot to look on the core support...it looked fine.

Only things missing, that the son of the owner is sure of (all the removed parts are in boxes I am yet to go through) are the air cleaner and the piece that covers the underside of the bell housing, between the engine and tranny.

On the core support as with the rest of the body it's mostly the body mounts. If worn out like yours they can beat the mounts out and I have seen the body split behind the cab. But this only on LWB Uni's. I am going to go and look at a LWB Uni as soon as the roads clear up here a bit.

Again yours looks very solid. It's a nice one for sure. Mine is and was rust free as well. No patches in Her at all. I did have to replace one front cab mount cuz the rubber went south and beat it out. Was good I caught it before it did any more harm.

I've only seen the mounts sold as sets....do know where I can get individual mounts

No I don't, I have only ever replaced them all. If one is bad then I would think they all need replaced.

Maybe someone has part of a set left and would sell ya one.

Im at work right now so I cant do it for you now. I have the service manual for 61-63 Ford trucks. I believe in the back of these manuals are the pictorial parts break down. I can scan and post later today unless someone beats me to it. Good luck

Jim Osborn Inc., prints the Body Interior/Exterior Assembly manual for the 62 Pickup, I used the 65 version and found it very helpful during reassembling the 65. Kinda pricey at $21, not sure if anything simular in CD. Believe many of the Ford part suppliers carry the reprint, or can purchased directly from the source;Product List Posting pic of of a couple pages from the 65 manual as an example: Anyhow, food for thought!http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...os/hmmm1-1.gif
