installing the sky manufacturing front reversal?

I have the sky manufactruing front shackel reversal kit. I am trying to put it on my 89 f250. There are some frame mods that need to be done, i am told. Does anyone have any pics of the finished install? Oreo, maybe? Never done anything like this before. I have the instructions, but i dont completely understand all of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you get the one from sky for the 92-97? I think ORU sells one for 87-91. If I remeber right there was some frame modification to be done if you bought the newer kit. Or its just some simple welding. Sure someone that has done it will chime in

Yes, I have the one from sky that is for 92-97. They say it will fit with some frame mods. But i have the front end off of my truck to install the new motor. so i figured the frame mods would be easier while i have it opened up. But just don't really know what to mod. Looks like a bracket for the radiator support/shackle support will have to come off, as well as the shackle support. then boxed in, just not sure. I have also heard that boxing it in is not necessary? So that is why i am looking for a pic, so i can see how it is installed. Figure that would be a good guideline.

Thanks for the link to those pics! Now i know how it goes on, except for the boxing in part. So I am almost there, just need to know about the boxing in. Thanks. :-X22

I'll try to post a pic of my frame so yall will know what i am talkin about. Looks like to me the radator support is in the way. My truck is an 89, so i guess its a little different. or maybe cause its a f250 instead of f350. I don't know, just guessing.

I never understood why Sky makes their shackle flip kids in 3" and 5", when EVERY OTHER LIFT OUT THERE is done in 2", 4", and 6". Maybe they just really didn't want F250 owners doing the shackle flip since you can't get any TTB drop brackets in the correct size.

Probablly gonna try making my own, or getting them made. If I can get the rest installed. But I see what you mean. Looks like it would throw the camber out, if it isn't correct.

heres a couple of pics of my frame. Any ideas? It is an 89 f250 4x4. would should i do to geterdone?

some channel iron, 3/8" thick to fill the gap. its retarded that they dont make the kit for our frame horns. 83-91 is a more years covered then 92-97 that their current kit offers.

oh, and if i were you, id invest in a energy suspension poly bushing kit. yours look pretty bad off

Royson12 02-19-2011 08:03 AM

Give me a pic Oreocreaming? I know you got this on you beast. please.
