how do I bleed my fuel system
 

I just had to change some leaking fuel hoses due to a bad leak. I changed all of the hoses and now cant get my truck to start. any feed back would be much appreciated. how do I or can I bleed my fuel system. I have already almost killed my batteries and this has me bumfuzzled. thanks.

To answer your question: If you have a 91+, lean over the RH fender and trace the fuel rail back to the firewall and you should find a Schrader valve, like a tire has. Stick a 1/8" or smaller cabinet screwdriver in it to bleed off whatever is clogging your fuel line, the screwdriver that comes with a chainsaw for adjusting the carburetor works great. On a side note, your truck should start even with air in the fuel line as long as you crank the engine for 10 seconds or more. Quick diagnostic check that takes less than 20 minutes: Turn the key to "on" but DO NOT crank the engine, then turn it off. Disconnect the fuel filter on the gas tank side and see that fuel sprays out. Leave the filter disconnected, jump the "fuel pressure test" pins on the EEC test connector near the brake booster, then leave the key on as before while watching the fuel drain into an old soda bottle and see that it fills it up to 20oz in 10 seconds or less. If your truck fails either of these tests, you have a bad fuel pump or a leak in the lines or regulator. Check the regulator, then eliminate a leak, then make sure the fuel pump is good. If the truck passes BOTH of these tests, you have a problem other than the fuel system and I wish you the best of luck.

Remember to use caution the fuel pumps on these trucks run 45psi+

no need to bleed the fuel lines. make sure the pump is working and you have gas in it

Change some lines? Did you get the lines backwards when you hooked them up?

Dual batteries? Is it a 7.3? If so, it sounds like you very possibly could have air locked it. The fuel filter should have a bleeder on it. Bleed that out and see what she does
