1999 Ford F250 Super Duty V10 Triton EGR CODE401

When everything is hooked up EGR vacuum line and EVR canister everything runs fine until I get to a stop. It stalls out. I replace the Idle control and that wasn't it. When I plug the lines to the EGR Vacuum line and the EVR recovery canister.. it does not stall. I replace the EGR Valve top back left of the motor that new and the other control emmision systems EVR. When I put a Vacuum tester on the EGR valve it has a constant leak no vaccum at all?? what could be the problem. I check all the lines and they are fine no leaks also where it come from the exhaust its not plugged up at all. Could I be looking at a new PCM module? I need to pass smog and when I hook everything back up.. after 33 miles.. it get a code 401 again and Check Engine light comes back on.

Any suggestion or anyone who is familar with this please help.. I'm beyond my mind with this.. I also have a mechanic that doesn't know what else to do.. we replace most of the sensors to this truck including the DPFE Sensor, could this have failed again?

Thanks for your time and interest..

The EGR should hold vacuum, I'd start with that. Make sure your vacuum tester holds vacuum when plugged first.

The stalling thing, try one thing at a time. Plug the EVR line, and see if that stops the stalling. If it does, the solenoid for the EVR is probably stuck open.

I had a split in the PCV elbow which threw EGR and DPFE codes. I threw money at it twice at the dealer. Came to FTE read about the elbow changed it and have not had grief since. Follow the PCV tube to where it connects to the throttle body spacer right at the intake manifold. The rubber elbow could be your culprit.
