Gauges Randomly stop working & starting problem

I have a 2009 F-250 diesel. Sometimes when driving the pickup the gauges all stop working and it starts cycling through all the warning lights, this happens randomly. The pickup continues to run and drive. When i shut off the pickup to try and reset the warnings and gauges it might take a while for it to start again. While trying to start it the starter does not turnover nor will it click or make any noise. Eventually it does start and all gauges return to normal and work. Today this happened and it took a half hour for the pickup to start again. I cant continue to drive without the gauges speedometer and all the others so when it happens i pull over and shut it off, sometimes it starts right back up and others not so great.

The pickup also randomly has the starting problem some mornings or other times during the day. When it will not start in the morning the glow plug light does not come on, it will not turnover, the starter does not click and makes no noise. It has battery power and the other electronics all work. After trying and waiting and trying some more the pickup eventually starts.

The pickup has been to the dealership numerous times and they have failed to come up with a solution to the problem. Today they pulled 3 pages of codes from the pickup. Like i said it cycles through all the warnings.

Anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions on what to look at????

Sounds like it might be ignition switch related. If it were a gauge harness, one bank would go out but the other bank would be fine. Should be under warranty, have the dealership check it out.

It has been to the dealership numerous times but since the problem is intermittent it never happens when it is at the dealership so they never look very deep into the issue. It was in yesterday and all they did was pull the fault codes and there was 3 pages worth. I guess they are finally looking into the problem a little deeper.

I think there was a communication wire from the ignition switch to the gauges located around the gear selector that has been known to rub raw and cause an issue. Might want to check into that.
