Another pinion angle question...
Hey guys, I got my axle installed on the frame and I was syked but then....I noticed the pinion looked like it was angled up quite a bit. When I work on setting the pinion angle, do I just get the frame "level" then check the angle? Or when I get the front IFS done and the size wheels and tires I'm gonna use on...then check the angle? Just bare frame right now except for rear springs, axle, and shocks installed. The 9" came out of a 71 f100. Thanks guys

I would sure wait until I had it finished.
Everything will make a difference. I would bet when you are all done it will be ok as it is but you won't know until you are done and try it. Easy enough to shim the pinion angle a little then if necessary. |
Wait until it has its full weight on it, then use the angle finder on the pinion and transmission. It is as simple as that. Well.....

Agree with above. You need to have your regular driving weight added and that weight on the truck's suspension to determine the proper angle.
