i have a good code reader and it says that the fuel rail pressure when running is 2.77 kpa how much pressure is that any help would be great. its a actron cp 9180 code reader:-X09

Google "metric conversions".... This ain't rocket science.

2.77 kpa is .40 psi. how is that enough for the truck to run. it runs fin unless you wot and it spit and stumbles at 3000. new maf new plugs and new o2s. any help would be great

only stumbles at 2800 to 3700 when wot than clears out. fuel pump ?

Start with the fuel filter.

its new two days ago. its the second in 90,000 miles, lots of brwn **** in it.

The new filter has a lot of brown stuff in it?

Just a guess, but this may be the cause of your problem. :-roll

well the old one had lots of brown fuel comming out of it. the first one had a blade of grass in it. wtf is that about. but hows it run with only .40 psi

40 PSI will run the truck, but not under high power demands.

Did someone put a bunch of crap in your tank?

Drop your tank and clean it out. You may need to replace the pump.

is 2.77 kpa at the fuel rail pressure sensor enough. if i am right its only .40 psi right am i not moving the decimal enough?

and whats the best way to remove fuel tank? got any detailed instructions

You are correct that 2.77 kPa is .40 PSI. I'm not a gasser guy, but that's barely enough pressure to measure, much less run an engine on.

I've seen a few instances where OBD-II readers will read a value and then incorrectly assume a unit of measure. I don't know what the 2.77 represents but I really doubt it is kPa. You need to find a better way to read fuel pressure.

i have no other way of testing fuel that i know of. i have no fitting on the fuel rail. any other sugestios

There should be a fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail. There has been on every fuel injected gas engine that I've seen. But like I said, I'm a diesel guy, not a gasser guy.

You might need to go down the forum specific to the engine you are working on. There would be more expertise there.
