2000 F250 Steering Problems

I have a 2000 F250 Super Duty, 4 wheel drive, V10. Lately it has started pulling to the left then jerking hard to the right. It only does this intermittently. Both front hubs and bearing have been replaced as well as front calipers and pads. Truck has 193k miles on it. My mechanic has no idea what is wrong and I would appreciate any ideas. I don't want nor can I afford to just be changing parts...

well, as I'll assume your in the state or Tx. and with that, roads are crowned like crazy sometimes... and there are those ruts as well....right. how's the ball joints? still holding grease in the zerks? no torn boots? how are the bushings and the anti-swaybar looking?

Might take a good look at tie rod ends . Mine was doing that last week and had bad outer tie rod end. Gust of wind would just about blow it out of road.

Everything appears to be good under the front end. Had it in the shop and they could not duplicate the the problem. Has me stumped and just a little scared to drive it.

Check that the bolts for the studs that hold the wheel hub on are correctly torqued. If they are than it could be a bad drive axle u-joint. After that it could be a steering box.

@Texasyooper -Side note, more like an "insiders question" so, umm, if I asked where "above the mitten" or "know of Dollar Bay"? Would ya be able to reply in a "knowing way" ??? ;). I'm from (originally "cereal city, USA)

electryc_monk, sure would . Been UP here for about 5 years. Between Esky and Manistique. Little bit of adjusting to do with the weather!

just a thought mine did a little of that last year and it turned out to be a siezing axle u joint. have you checked to see what kind of shape yours are in.
