Smooth Firewall Cover Options

I'd like a smooth firewall cover for my 1950 Ford F1. The stock firewall has too many holes although mine is in great shape. I don't want to cut it out and weld a new one in.

I called direct sheet metal and they have a cut out and replace unit. Any other options?

If I told you that you could replace your firewall without welding would that change your mind?

Here is a link that will give you more info

I live a few blocks from Direct Sheetmetal and I have had many custom pieces made there...including the firewall you see in this link. If you decide to go with the structural adhesive option then Dave can make up whatever firewall panel that you need.

Just a thought.......

How about re-skinning over the original firewall? That’s what I'm thinkin. I have 53 f100 and more hole than I know what to do with, not to mention a large hole the size of a license plate for some old heater unit a previous owner installed.

A double thick firewall would help with heat and noise, wouldn't it?

Thanks

My body man cut a piece of polished SS and "glued" it right over the old firewall. It has been on for years now and is very easy to keep clean.
