Which gear ratio 3.55 or 3.73

Ok, So my truck will be a 2011 F250 CrewCab Shortbox SRW 4X4 Deisel with 20" rims (I think)

It will be a daily driver to and from work on a combination of highway and rural roads, as well as normal city driving. I will be towing a large 36" 5th wheel travel trailer on a sliding hitch. My towing will only be occasionally. I currently have it located at a trailer park but do plan on taking it out occassionally to go other places as well as the occasional 3 week vacation long haul. But it will mainly be for just the occasional towing.

Because the trailer is so heavy (arpox 11500 empty, I think) do I need 3.73 gears or will I be fine with 3.55 gears?

I have no intention of going with 4.30 gears as the amount of towing does not warrent it and I do still want some sort of fuel economy.

So what do you think? 3.55 or should I go up to 3.73?

Don't think 3.73. is an option.
It's only available on a F350 DRW

3.31 and 3.55 are your only choices

Ditto, He's right. I loved the 3.73 for the last ten years but the 3.55 in my '11 feels the same seat of the pants.

Furthermore, 20 inch wheels and tires gets you 3.55 gears, period. There is no optional choice with SRW Diesels when you get 20 inch rubber. 17 and 18 inch rubber can be had with 3.31 or 3.55. As stated earlier, no 3.73 in diesl SRW, DWR only. I pull 13000 pounds of fiver, at 22200 pounds GCVW, up and down 9% grades with no issues. My truck has 3.55 gears

3:55 is all you need. I am pulling a larger 5th than you with NO PROBLEM.

awesome. 3.55 it is then.

Now all I have to do it choose a colour. I'm leaning toward, black metallic, the bronze metallic or dark grey metallic, except the grey doesn't come with the two-tone this year.

I have the sterling grey metallic and am very happy with it.
However, only you can choose the color you want!
Best thing to do is see if a local dealer or two has all three and go stare at them until you decide.

Don't get the Golden Bronze Metallic...looks too much like a UPS truck:-missingt:-missingt:-missingt ...unless you get the "Limited Edition" seats:-D:-D:-D

I did go looking at different colours just yesterday. I found a black mettalic that I seemed to like. A one tone dark grey metallic that I liked, execpt I wanted the two-tone which isn't available this year. I also saw the Bronze metallic. I still like it but my wife works in daycare and says the colour reminds her too much of well, something that baby's make a lot of that she see's every day and is also kinda brown......:-X13

I still like the colour though and it is still on my short list.

The problem with the Bronze is that is is much darker, almost brown, in real life. Those pretty ford pictures sure make it brighter and shinier than the actual colour.

It is too cold for shorts right now...but as soon as we hit 50 degrees, they will come back out.

I really like my Bronze truck. It was not my first choice but I am sure happy I bought it. I have owned a few new trucks in my time. None of them have ever attracted the attention this one does. I still get guys walking across parking lots, especially at HD or Lowes, to talk to me about it.

If you look at the "Ohio Meet" pictures you will see New Years day UPS delivery:-missingt:-missingt:-missingt
