'07 Expy lift gate
 

Is it medal or plastic? I tried to put a "Save the Ta-tas" magnet on the back of my '07 but it wouldn't stick. I was able to put in on my rear fender. So that makes me wonder if the lift gate is plastic or fiberglass or something else.

Aluminum, possibly. Or maybe the tailgate is PC and object that magnet.

hood and rear hatch are 100% aluminum nowadays. roughly since 2003 it's been that way.

It's aluminum. I have a paint blister on mine.

07 El Limited. FMC repainted my tailgate at 31K. One thing take pictures before they touch it.

Ok they repainted it, but put the wrong badging back on. They put Expedition, s/b Expedition EL. Was a PITA to get them to understand the wrong rear badge but they did replace it .

My '03 Nav had the paint blister problem. Fortunately it showed up after the extended warrantly expired, so I got to pay $700 to get the tailgate repainted last summer.:-banghead I took it to a private shop - they did a beautiful job. They said they see the problem very frequently on these big SUVs.
