Pretty much all trucks are that way and have been for a long time. Personally I think it's so that when you haul something, the truck sits level . I don't think it's as much the front sitting lower as it is the rear sitting higher, but just hook any trailer to your truck and it squats down to level. I don't like it either and think I'll install a leveling kit on the front and airbags on the rear to keep it level when hauling.

Does that mean the leveling kit also raises the engine 2 1/2" higher than original? if it does, that is the one I am looking for. It is no fun to change oil with the front end as low as it is now.

Yes. :-X22

I just installed one on my 2004 King Ranch and it was quick and easy to do. I was kinda upset thinking it would be much higher, but my other diesel I put a 6" lift so thats probably why.

That looks really nice.

How is the ride AFTER the installation? any improvement? did you put in new shocks?

scottzj 05-12-2011 06:51 PM

The ride is fine and not much different. I didnt change out the shocks as they are stick working and functioning fine. With the 04 model the shock never changes distance with the leveling kit, so it still has the same amount of travel room.

For those of you that did the install, did you already have a 400# torque wrench or did you rent one? If you rented, was it a major chain parts house? I've called a couple that don't have it.

I live in a fairly small town and 'the shop' that's open next weekend also doesn't have one that goes that high.

Mine only goes to 200#, any ideas on safety for the track bar attached at 1/2 the recommended torque until I can get to a shop with the right tool?

I'm installing this on a friend's 2004 f250, will post up the before and after shots.

that looks really nice, and made in America!

mb_01sc,

I managed to get my hands on a torque multiplier. Hooked a 1/2" torque wrench on one side set at 100 ft # and a 3/4" 30mm socket to the other. Since the ratio on the multiplier was like 4:1 I had appx 400 ft # Not sure if any of the auto zone type places will carry this, maybe a big rig shop. Hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Oh and about the safety, I drove back and fourth to work/town a few times before the bolts were properly torqued without any issues. Just keep an eye on things...It seems like it would take alot for those bolts to do much even at 200#

Thanks AMB, that's what I was lookimg for. :-drink

We completed the install on my friends F250 this weekend.

My questions regarding torque were for nothing, I had breaker bars, large compressor with an impact and we still couldn't remove the track bar. He's going to take it to a shop to get that part swapped.

Otherwise the install was nice, quality parts, great instructions, no surprises.

Sweet, looks sharp. Feels good to be gone with the rake. Surprised you didn't get those bolts out. They weren't easy for me either. I used a breaker bar with about a 4' long section of pipe as a cheater that fit around the breaker bar nice and snug. Anyways, gotta do whatcha gotta do. Good stuff.

I have a leveling kit on my 99 ccpsd but not this particular one yall have.. just the cheap one on ebay but anyways.. I am wondering what is the biggest tire i can get on here now? my measurements are 40.5 inches from ground to fender. I am currently running 265/75/16. im looking to by bigger wheel and tire set

mwsF250 08-12-2011 02:27 PM

315/75-16 is the ragged edge for biggest tire with leveling kit.
Most fit, some rub a bit and may require trimming of some plastic.
And since diameter and width are not an absolute from manufacturer to manufacture or even model to model, some 315/75-16's may be too big. I was OK with BFG AT/K0's and GY DuraTracs. Just a little rub on the leaf spring at full lock.

Wheel backspacking and width is key! Unfortunately, I can't remember the optimal wheel size was....
And on some trucks, the cab may sit a bit far forward or rearward on the frame mounts. May need to loosen and shift it a scosche.

I was looking for a good mod like this. Been thinking of new or newer springs with F350 blocks on my 2000 F250 and add this kit with slightly taller tires on stock rims.

nice! I've been wanting to order one of these for sooo long.
