Wanted: 19.5" or 17.5" Rims off F-250
Hi
I am looking for a set of 19.5" tubeless rims, as fitted on Ford F-250's between 1956 and 1969. They are 5.25" wide. They were also offered by Dodge and Studebaker on their 3/4 ton models in 1957. Dodge until 1968 and Studebaker until 1964. They are a Budd Corporation product having Budd #71410. The corresponding Ford part # is B6D 1015-B. The Dodge part # is 1922398 and Studebaker # is 1685912. The National Wheel and Rim Association (NWRA) cross reference number is X-45049. I would also consider 17.5" x 5.25" tubeless rims offered on the 1956 F-250s and corresponding Dodge and Studebaker 3/4 ton models. These were available during the same range of years as above. There were two Budd numbers listed. Budd #70720 cross refers to their later #73240. The Ford part # is B 8 D 1015-A. The Dodge # is 1922395 and Studebaker # is 1685911. The NWRA cross reference number is X-45048. Anyone with a set (4) of either of the above rim sizes (or in fact any no. of rims) in a good straight condition (I don't mind about paint finish) that they would be willing to sell please contact me. Thanks Andrew PS - info above courtesy of Stu (truckdog)! |
Come on guys. Somebody's got to have an F-250 parts truck sitting out back with tubeless rims. This poor guy in the UK is sitting on widowmakers.
Otherwise, do any of you have private yards that you know would have potential donor trucks? Here's the old thread where this was talked about a week ago. Stu https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...r-options.html |
I have those rims on my 57 F350 but I love'em. My problem is finding tires with a beefy tread to mount on them.
Napco I believe was the supplier of those rims. The chevy and studabaker trucks along with ford were all fitted with Napco converstions. |

called my top secret junk yard today and he doesnt have any. he said he would give me a call if he came across anything. i also asked him to keep his eyes open for the 5 or 6 lug tubeless budds and he told me he had a set of 6 lug 19.5 tubeless that were on a motorhome that he got tired of looking at so they went to the steel pile. i dont know if they ever made a motorhome with 19.5 tubless 6 lug, but i know there gone now. anyway, i know this doesnt help, but he will call me if he finds something.

I've got a set of 17.5" rims that were on a 1956 F250 I parted out. The only problem is they are buried in my storage unit and they still have the rotted junk tires on them. And right now it's about 10 below 0 outside. So it would probably be spring before I could get to them dig them out and get the tires pulled off.

This is great, thanks for all your responses. I am wanting to get hold of a set of wheels sooner rather than later.
Fordman75 - When do you reckon you could dig them out and would you be willing to ship them to the UK? How much would you want? Lance65 - same questions to you really, timescale, shipping and cost? Have you got any photos? Where are both you guys located? Send me mail at andrew.beeson@colliers.com if you wouldn't mind. Thanks Andrew |
B6D-1015-B = 19.5 x 5.25 = 1956/66 F250.
B8D-1015-A = 17.5 x 5.25 = 1956/67 F250 w/SRW. B9TZ-1015-A = 16 x 6 = 1959/66 F250 (Budd: 31031). D1TZ-1015-A = 16.5 x 6 = 1967/79 F250 / .50" offset-heavy duty. 49truck: I noticed that you typed the prefix B8D as B 8 D and I know why. When you type 8D together, a smilie face appears. :-( But, if you scroll down towards the bottom of the page...before posting the message ...you can disable smilies in text. :-) |
Bill - Thanks for your input on those dates for the 17.5s and 19.5s. Andrew got his dates from me, and I got them from my wheel references. Your books show usage over a shorter span of years than mine. I'll make marginal notes with your dates. Stu
