Extang solid fold

I just put on a new Extang solid fold cove on today and that is about a simple as it can be. I do notice that when one closes up the tailgate there is a pretty good amout of friction on the rubber gasket on the bottom side of the rear panel where it mates the top of the tailgate. Has anyone ever put a dab of vaseline or equivelent on the gasket to reduce friction and protect it?

Thanks

I noticed the same thing on mine and realized that after about 5 months it had slid back just a little bit. I moved it forward just a hair and now it's fine. Hope this helps.

Extang Solid Fold

I just had my Extang Solid Fold installed today. Actually, dealer didn't charge anything for the install because it's so simple... The installer told me he did use a light spray of silicon lube on the rear seal, just to help the tailgate slide closed a little easier. This thing looks great and looks to have a good seal all around. Pics tomorrow when the sun comes up...:-X22

I moved mine forward just a little and it is much better now. I also call Extang and they said it needs to rub enough to get a decent seal and that when positioned right it will bump upward the rear of the rear section just a little. I really do like it.
