Brake line fasteners???
 

Hello again

This might be the supidest question of the day but im lost!! I am replacing all my brake lines on my 77 f150 2wd. Every so often there is a fastener that holds the brake line onto the frame. I have broken 2 fasteners so far thinking that i'll probably brake all of them :( . Is there replacments that I can buy? I have tried looking for them online but no suck luck :(

if the local auto parts store can't find one you could use a couple e clips instead..those will fix the hardline to soft line clips... if its the plastis clips in the frame you'll need to go LMC or aftermarket... check some of the hotrod venues they have line clamps for almost anything...

Go to a local fastener shop or a hydraulic hose shop and buy some "one hole" straps with the rubber inserts and bolt them to your frame.

The original plastic clips are obsolete and as far as I can find, no dealers or obsolete parts suppliers have any and they aren't being reproduced.
They are fairly simple to remove. There is a plastic pin that expands the clip. Take a small pin punch (not a center punch, it has to have a flat nose) and drive the pin back through the clip, then you can remove the clip.
As a back-up you could use small adell clamps and screws to attach the lines to the frame.

I had several broken ones on my '79. I found a company online called inlinetube that sells tons of clips. I used the stainless ELK series on my lines.
