What transmission do I have. I saw the specs somewhere but not sure where
 
the sticker says E under TR.

its a 2000 F250 Super Duty V10

Transmission Codes
B — Four-speed manual, T199, F-Series (Mexico sold units only)

W — Five-speed manual, Dana ZF (M5HD-W), F-Series

E — Four-speed automatic overdrive (4R100), gasoline engines, F-Series/Excursion/F53 recreational
stripped chassis (motorhome)

9 — Four-speed automatic overdrive (4R100), diesel engine, F-Series/Excursion

6 — Six-speed manual, Dana ZF (M6HD-6), F-Series

is there a good, better, or best filter and gasket for the 4R100
 
How many Qrts should I get for this beast.

If you have never had the tranny flushed, you should have that done. You can get it done, with or without a new filter. If you haven't had it done, you should get a new filter also. If you just drain the pan, I don't know how many quarts you will need, but it's not nearly all of the fluid.

That method won't work on a TorqShift. The TorqShift has an internal thermostat the will keep 90% of the fluid inside the trans until it is over 170°F. It takes a heated flush machine to change all the fluid in a TorqShift.
