Welcome turbohunter To The Chapter!

Our newest member has quite a stable full of Fords:
Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - Garage Portal

Glad to have you on board, turbohunter. How about telling us a bit about yourself and those rides of yours...especially that '63 'bird. Not to be selfish, but that's one of my all-time favorites.

Mine too Steve. I love that car and its a riot to drive.
I'll put some more pics of it in the garage.
As for a little about myself and cars here goes.
I'm 55 married, live in the SF valley.
I bleed Ford blue as does a brother and my dad.
I'm in car hell right now as three of them are down.
The Mustang is in a long term rebuild getting a whole new under carriage.
Scotts Hot Rod mustang II set up in the front and four link in the rear.
It started life with me as a non numbers matching A fastback, so I don't have a problem cutting on it.
I was doing a dash rebuild on the T-bird when my wifes truck burnt a piston, so I had to get that back in working order.
I'll attach a pic of the piston, you'll dig it.
Truck is almost done. While it was apart I figured I'd make it easier to drive for her so I installed power brakes and steering.
Wiring was old so I'm installing a new harness. Really enjoying that.
As far as the other trucks my F-350 is my daily driver, it's a wonderful vehicle.
The fire truck is awesome. I bought it on a trip back to Ohio right from the fire house and drove it to California at 53 mph top speed.
It stays at my retirement place in Norcal doing fire protection duty.
Whew, thats more typing than I've done in awhile.
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Marc

Wow that's a nice sized ding. Welcome. Great introduction.

Thanks
Yeah, I love that hole. Looks kind of drag racerish.

orng1 01-11-2011 01:06 AM

LOL yeah I have a few paper weights like that somewhere.

I'm thinkin if I make a habit out of it I could sell'em like Force does for ash trays and make some money.

I don't think that'd be very profitable.

Like the old saying in horse racing
"How do you make a million racing horses? Start with ten."

SteveBricks 01-11-2011 07:03 AM

That's interesting. Do you think the top oil ring was the culprit?

turbohunter 01-11-2011 10:17 AM

I think so.
Just amazed at how much heat can be built up in a tame little street engine.
Notice how the ring piece is welded in.
