Can't shift INTO Park??

Hi All,

So as of this morning my 07 Navi does not want to allow the shifter to go into the park position. Because if this I now have to leave the truck in Neutral and leave the key inside of it :-banghead I can still start in neutral and it drives fine I just can't get into park when I stop.

A few days ago I was having issues getting the key out of the ignition cylinder after I turned the truck off (in park) so I figure its probably related somehow.

I searched and found some threads pointing to the shift interlock solenoid when it wont allow the shifter OUT of park, does the same apply to getting INTO park as well? does anyone know where it's located or how much/hard it is to fix?

Please help :-huh

Get under the vehicle and check the linkage to see if it has slipped for some reason.

Block the vehicle so that it can not move.
Remove the yellow clip from the shift arm (right center of photo) and move the arm to the park indent.
Move the shifter in the cab to the park position.
Replace the clip on the shift arm.

Sometimes the most obvious is the least obvious. Kind of like the guy who turned on the cruise control in his motor home and then got up and went to the back bathroom.:-wink
