Lokar or Gennie

Got a 57 F100 with a C4 automatic,There's a B &M shifter in it now but I don't like it,stick to short.Lokar and Gennie both have different size sticks you can get.Is one any better then the other and also is there any other shifters out there that have a assortment of stick lengths

In my uninformed opinion; Gennie is the more expensive and slightly better built with interchangeable handles / knobs, Lokar is cheaper (sometimes much) and some knobs require an adaptor.

Depends more on your budget?

I had a Gennie in my 54 (turbo 350) and now I have a Lokar (23" with the single bend & nostalgia boot) in my 53 (4L60E). The mounting brackets and internal workings were almost identical....did not see any difference in quality for the $$$. Both are good. When I was shopping shifters I did not see that much difference in price either. Gennie does have lots of options for shifter knobs. I'm using the satin aluminum one that came with the lokar. It has the button on the shifter...I've heard that they can rattle but havent had that problem yet (the gennie was a push down to shift type if I remember correctly...and could be stiff sometimes).

I did have to modify the bracket a little to get the correct 'lean' for full range of travel so that the shifter did not hit the dashboard or seat...but that would be the same with any shifter in my case. This was based on the position and angle of the transmission. The base on the lokar did have a forward and backward adjustment feature that helped.

Lokar is made in USA so I felt good about that. Regards.

the button in my 57 Lokar shifter doesnt rattle but the same unit in my friends 32 3 window does, a lot.
