Well, there's a few of us that heve them on earlier models - 48-52.

I can't recall if I've seen someone with an "Effie" that has one, but I'm sure there are some.

I did a search here (which is like beating your head against a wall) and here are a few threads and photo's:

Better be prepared to sell a kidney!!!!!!

That Fulton Deluxe Visor is running around $500 right now. They are few and far between.

I"ve only seen about 4 of them on e-bay in the last 6 years. I have one....Arrowhead has another, I think Kusto bought one, and the fourth is MIA.

There are other types of Fultons and the one piece 52-54 Ford Car visors that you can get. You will have to cut it but it can be done.

OK since Arrowhead had to show off his cool new visor I will too!

Not mine but if you look at the pics there is a truck in the background with a visor and its a 53-55. They look good

This has been on my too do list since I picked my truck up. I've seen a hand full of trucks with a visor, and I LOVE the character they add to the truck.

You are going to have a little bit of a mounting challange because of the configuration of your drip rail. On the Bonus and Economy Builts it comes down the front of the pillar so it's easy to mount the visor on it.

On your truck the drip rail goes across the top of the windshield.

There are a number of different tyrpes of these visors. Most were made by a company called Fulton. Ford made some during the mid 1950s for their cars. The Fulton Visors were usually made of aluminum and were adjustable. They came with two large side panels and a center cap. The Ford Visors were steel and solid all the way across. One reason this is important is because you may have to take a couple of inches out of the solid visor. I think your "effie" is wide enough across the top that you won't have to trim the inside edge of the side panels.

Also, the Fultons of the period came in (at least) to main styles. There was the Regular Fulton which was somewhat of a chevron shape and designed for cars with split windshields, and the Deluxe visor (which both Arrowhead Fred and I have - and are the expensive ones) The Deluxe visor is more flat across the front and looks much better on the F-Series trucks. Here's a few pictures of each. Top is the Regular; next the Deluxe. Buttom is a 56 Fairlane Visor made by Ford:

Either way you are going to have to make a center brace for the visor and install it.

Thank you very much for that info Julie!!! :-dancing1

If I remember correctly ''Gman"" had a visor on a panel truck.
They are costly if you find one.

Julies Cool F1 12-09-2010 01:57 PM

I checked "gmans" user page and there aren't any pictures. So I wrote him a note and asked him to jump in.

1 thing to think about, I'm 6'4" so when I'm sitting in my truck a visor would get in my way more than it would help me...

That's a good point. But if you look at the installation on both mine and Arrowhead Freds truck, the bottom edge of the visor is even with the top edge of the windshield. It doesn't block your view.

And for those high signal lights ya gotta have the right stuff...need to accessorize......Get one of these:

LOL I'm a bad influence!

That is a dash mounted prism that was common on 50 vintage cars with sun screens. It actually bends the light so if you look into it you can see the high mounted signal lights that you can't see from where you are sitting because they are blocked by the visor (or like Tard at 6'4" anyway because the top of the windshield cuts off your view if you are sitting high up!)

I have mine mounted in the defrost nozel hole on the dash! It's perfectly centered on the steering wheel!

Works great! Way cool! :-X03

Here it is sitting on the dash from the outside:

RED LIGHT

Heck there is only 1 red light in my home town and its at a 3 way. LOL

Julies Cool F1 12-10-2010 12:47 AM

Yeah, but look at it this way. When alien beings come down and look at you through the windshield of your truck from above, you will look twice as big through the prism and they will leave you alone.

thanks everybody, and you too, Julie:9
