lift questions

long story short, i volunteered to help a girl who i'm trying to get in good with, lift her truck, i can't seem to find any easy way that will give me answers as to what i'm looking for... i did search the forum a little though...

her truck is a 2006 F-150 crewcab shortbox lariat 4x4

she wants to go with a suspension lift, to fit 33" tires, but i am going to convince her to do 35's or bigger, what i'm curious about is what type of suspension and drivetrain there is on these, i'm going to guess coils on IFS and leaf spring solid rear?

lift kits for these are going to be typically longer shocks, and rear springs, and a diff drop kit with longer coils and shocks or a coilover setup for the front?

i don't know for sure how much lift she wants though...

the suspension is a strut up front, and leafs out back. now to fit 33" tires you don't really need a lift. i have 285/70/17s (32.6") on my truck with no lift. to fit 35's you can do a 3" level kit up front and add-a-leaf in the rear.that method is fairly easy and inexpensive($200-$300).then you can go for the full bore 6-8" lift, and spend a couple thousand dollars.

it all depends on how "good" you want to get in with her.lol

well she's paying for the lift... i'm sure as hell not shelling that money out for her, i'm just going to do the install for her... she want's to "do it right" and doesn't seem too worried about money, specifically she said "i would rather spend a few extra and get something good"... she's thinking 4" and 33's but i think that will look dumb (like 3"bl and my 31's on my ranger)

If she only wants 4" and 33" then I would say the leveling kit but if she is even considering lifting then go straight to the 6". Will be better overall and she should end up liking it more in the end.

i'm thinking i'm just going to have to show her pictures of trucks with leveling kits and 6" lifts... seeing what she wants... what size tire fits/looks best on an 06 with 6"? i can't help but think 33"s are going to be small and ghey
