Door Ajar Switch Wire Color
Hello, I am in the process of installing a security system in my 97 F150 after someone broke in (by Drilling out the passenger side door lock cylinder) and stole my stereo, destroying both door lock cylinders, both door handles, dash trim ring and the 12Volt outlet door. Anyways, the alarm needs an input from the door ajar switches but I cant seem to find them in my manual's wiring diagrams. I know they are part of the door latch, that I need to tap into both (isolating each with a diode), and that they are ground-out switches but that's all I have found out so far, Anybody have more information for me such as the wire colors etc.? thanx in advance.

Driver's door - BK/YEL
Pass door - BK/PK Wire is grounded by latch switch when latch is closed. |
they ground out when the latch is closed (door latched)? Thats different, I hope its not an issue. I hope I can make this alarm work, it was expensive. thanx for the info

Ok so i finally got a chance to work on this again and upon testing with a volt meter this is what i found. When the door is open the BLK/Yel wire is not grounded or hot, it is just floating, like 0.1-0.2 volts. When the door is closed it goes to 9.8 volts? this is wierd is this right or should it be 12V when the door is closed or is there an issue with my door switches? thanks
