Wall ART or extra parts 4 sale

Had a guy come buy today and ask if I wanted another front end. Mine was in good shape so I told him no and then he said that 5 letter work "scrap" so I told him I would take it. Gave $30 for it and when he dropped it off I was very surprised how clean it really was. So now I am wondering if I should part it out or cut it off flat so it will mount on the shop wall and some day clean it up and paint it and put in some lights. Or save it for a cool foot board for a bed for my son :-X22

Is their much need for F3 lower corners and F1+ grill inserts?

You've got about $300 worth of parts there - at least.

Upper and lower valances ($50-$65 ea), wind breaks ($40), grille (with headlight buckets - $100), lower fenders ($65 ea), fender brackets ($20).

I'm looking at the upper and lower fender seams and they look real clean! In thinking about the upper fenders, I wonder why he cut it like this - OUCH!

Well the lower fenders are F6 or what ever the larger trucks are. This one had a tree growing right up through the middle and the guy who sold this to me was asked to scrap several vehicles for some guy. This was the only section that was good and he has seen my son's truck around town and thought of us for parts. So I think I will just cut it off strait across the rear edge of the top valance so it will mount flat to the wall with out hurting any good parts except the lower fenders sections.

I vaguely remember somebody posting a picture on here several months ago of a front end just like that hanging in a country store. Maybe somebody will remember and send you the link. It was really cool.

The most desireable parts you have there is the grille and lower apron. Looking at about $200 just for both. Not much of a market on the panels behind the grille and the fender braces. You may be able to pull $50-60 for each lower fender, but they're F2-F6. Sometime ago I sold just the hood latch for $25. Then you still have that panel as well. It's worth about $30-40.

If I were you, I'd hang that up on the wall until you find someone that needs the parts. You bought it for $30 and that's not a lot of money spent to make it wall art. You can install some headlights and wire them up so they light. It would be a cool set up.

I have a similar assembly, but from a parcel van, that I've been itching to wire and hang.

Hey Kevin, I was looking for just a piece just like this to make an office desk for my new pediatrics practice in Davis. Let me know what you would like for it. Thanks, Steve

I vote wall art. Connect up the fender braces and use them as a nice, sturdy place for hangers. Trim the fenders, but save the turn signals. I don't know if I'd put lights in it. I think it's very cool just like it is. It's just got a kind of "field find" (not quite barn find)look to it that's just special. :-X22

If I sell it I will let you know. I am thinking wall art with speakers as head lights! Now I just need to find the front 8" of a 51 hood:-drink

If it were me, it would have already been hanging up on the wall of the shop - right below the Rolls Royce-style '78 Lincoln grille. Finding the front section of a hood to stick on it and wiring in some headlights would be perfect! The parts have value, but they aren't that rare and you won't get rich selling them. The conversations that it will start are far more valuable.

I have a rusted out front clip from a '48-50 F-1 that I cut the front 6-8" off of and some day if I ever get to it I'm going to mud over it, spray some paint on it and hang it on the wall with operating headlights. This clip was a no brainer to hack away at, it was in really bad shape.

I agree and if they ever do get that rare and valuable I will know right were they are. Plus with a 51 in the driveway it would be cool to have this on the wall.
