Key fob battery

She loves driving it and I have to agree with 38chevy, with the rear seats folded it holds a lot of stuff. I was able to load a ton of stuff for the last Carlisle meet. There has been a problem with it starting, I took it to Ford and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. I believe it may be something in the anti theft system. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll act up when I'm at the dealer.

I have an 08 model and when the battery in key fob starts to get weak just before going dead, when you push the button to disable the antitheft it wont shut it off so you turn the key and it powers on but no start, so if you just change out the battery in the key fob you'll be back in business.:-X22

We have an 09 Edge SEL AWD. Purchased it used with 20k. Now has nearly 70k. We put plenty of miles on our vehicles. This is by far the best overall vehicle for our family that we have ever owned, by far. Never any problems. Just keep up on routine maintenance. We need AWD up here in the NEK of Vermont. AWD works perfectly in any weather condition, ice or snow. Plenty of power. I get mid-high 20's for mileage on the highway to my surprise. The only complaint is that on bright, sunny days (which we do not have much of!), the large dash reflects heavily into the windshield. A major distraction for me. We looked at every small and large SUV before purchasing. No regrets at all!

My mom has had hers for several months, and it is already up to 24,000 miles on a 2012. It is the ecoboost 4 cylinder, been turning pretty good mileage, approaching 30 on the open road.

Question I have is about the front seats. It is tricky for me to get in and out. I am 6'1", so not exceptionally tall, but only have a few inches between my knees and the dash. I can move the seat to within a couple inches of the dash to the maximum position that I have described. It is even close for my mom, who is shorter than I am. Is this the way the seats are set up? When I test drove one a couple years ago, I didn't remember being so tight.

Hmm. I do not know why it is difficult getting in and out? One of the things I like about my 09 is all the room in both front and rear seats. I am 6'3" and have no problems in any seat regarding leg room. Maybe the 2012 seats are designed differently, taking away some leg room?

I am 6'8" tall and I can find a comfortable seating position in the wifes edge. I don't know what would be causing your entry and exit problems.

Figured it out- she had it run all the way up, and that made it angle forward. Plenty of room now.

In the 2007- 2008 models there were problems reported including me with with the seat not going the full distance back and down. Sounds like the same problem have the dealership change the seat tracks on the drivers seat. There was a noticable difference after plus you lose head space if you dont have the panoramic sunroof.

fellro86 07-06-2012 09:48 PM

When going up, at a point it will start to move forward, although the track stays put.. If I move it down, it goes back quite nicely. Pretty much it is in the geometry of the mechanism. I discovered it when I out the seat down, as my head was about to hit the ceiling.

2011 Edge limited. 62k miles. Myfordtouch was terrible at first, installed the update and have no problems now. Motor for the roof glass went out once. Today I noticed a bad leak and did some research and apparently I have the well known PTU leak.

Before the PTU leak I was pretty satisfied but after this I am not so sure, especially since a lot of people have problems getting it to go away for good. And I'm 2k out of warranty coverage :(.

Like my Edge

I have a '13 Limited. After 7 months, I love it. Great performance, power, comfort, and terrific mileage. The FWD even works well in an 8" and 10" snowstorm. 100% recommendation!

Old lady has a '13 SEL I think. Whichever model is the middle of the road. It has 7000mi. and no issues. We are getting 22-23MPG with mixed city-hwy driving. I have had as much as 35 MPH on the highway with the cruise control set low.

80,000 and she is still happy with it, mileage is about the same as before.

we bought my wife's SEL AWD off the lot in 2010 with 40 miles on it. its over 55,000 now, been through several blizzards, several deserts, and all up and down the california coast line, couldn't ask for more from it really. not a single issue with it, and all i've done is swap the OE bulbs for PIAA. even have the OE michelins still, and they could easily last 2 more winters if she drove less. mileage is ok for an AWD, we avg about 20-23 combined. i also find it a lot more comfortable, roomy and better driving than her sister's '12 ML350 benz.

only gripes i have are A) no flappy paddle/shifter up down buttons (since all the competition vehicles have this and i'm a purist) and B) the beam pattern on the OE fog light lenses sucks.
