Let's see some lifted 80's

Hi all,
Everybody else's thread has this, maybe I haven't searched deep into the archives. My 80 has not sold, or brought the price I wanted. So now it's back to working on it.
Let's see some lifted 80's trucks. I wanna do a six or eight. Don't wanna go down the road of body lifting but I won't discourage lift pictures that include that. I figured a 6 and a 3 inch would look pretty decent.

Lets just do specs like Lift, tire size, etc.
I recall seeing a black 80-86 truck that the steering components were painted yellow!? Had some wet dreams about that one. Maybe someone on here owns it!?

Well anyways lets see some PICTURES!!!!

This is a six inch Rough Country lift. On 285/75R16 Mud Terrains. Costs around $600.00 for the lift.

Somewhere around 5.5-6" suspension, 3" body, much trimming, and 44 Boggers.

82F100SWB, lol My neighbor does mud bogs and stuff at Denis Anderson's in North Eastern NC, and his truck looks almost exactly like yours, Only diff I see is his has the newer grille. 460?

82F100SWB 11-12-2010 11:06 AM

Yup, mild 460, nothing special, it's primarily a trail truck, no racing with that beast. And, it's street legal... LOL

8 inch and 3 body 38.5 surper swamper

Here is my '81 Ford F150. Has an 85ish 460CI engine from a F250. 9 inches of lift.(6" body,3"body). it has 33s on it with some rims off a 97 f150. id like to get bigger tires , preferrably 35s or 36s.. also im wnting them to be about 11.5 to 12 inches wide. can anyone give me a bolt pattern and offset id need thnks!!

80FlareSide 08-10-2011 07:35 AM

The truck in my "Album" in my profile has 33" tires on a 4" suspension lift.

Here's some new, better pictures of mine:
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...7_289793_n.jpg

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...32_97158_n.jpg

It has a shackle flip in the rear, using a stock hangar for the front of the rear spring at the front.
The front is a homebrew shackle reversal using stock front springs from a '00 F250, and stock rear spring shackles.
I'm not sure about the rear suspension height, but the front is 2.75" above a stock F350, with the axle pushed around 3.5" forward, trimmed fenders(to the body line) and a 3" BL all around.

Is love to have a step side !! One of my favorite trucks in any and every model!!

BRay09 08-10-2011 03:39 PM

Not sure of the lift size. Looks to me like the guy used the stock blocks in the rear and put on 4" blocks on top of it with stock springs and longer ubolts. Front, the lift is done right. Have it on 38.5x15x16.5 wheels. Could fit 40s easy and 44s with trimming.

No lift. Just sits up nice and high for those big loads they were made to pull and that leaves room for bigger tires. Good looking truck nonetheless

jthorngate3 08-11-2011 02:07 PM

I just put a 2.5" suspension lift on my truck, but don't have the pictures yet. I have to wait to take pictures til the engine is back in, so it is a better representation. Nice looking trucks in here.

cadunkle 08-11-2011 11:04 PM

Only recent pic I have handy as it sits now. 4" lift, springs up front, shackle flip in rear with Sky hangers.driveline is 460/ZF5/NP208, though I have a BW1356 and NP205, not sure which one I'll use. Sits on 35"x12.5" BFG MT.

Love the extended cab! Very nice looking truck.

Wtroutner2001 08-12-2011 10:32 AM

Wow. My final project on my truck after I work all the bugs out of her is to give her about a 3" lift and throw some bigger tires under there. Seeing these pictures is making me want to do it NOW lol. Geat pics man, keep em coming

LouisianaKid 08-17-2011 02:57 PM

Has anybody lifted there's just by putting in some more leaf springs? I saw a nice 100 at my gas station and the ole boy just said he had 5 leaf springs on it to my 4.

A lot of people do. Buddy of mine has 11 leafs on the rear of his and 5 or 6 in the front. Gave it a few inches and a 3" body lift so ended up with enough room to clear 40's

jthorngate3 08-17-2011 09:44 PM

Here is mine without the engine, next to a 4 inch lifted super duty.

Engine is back in now, but still some things to clean up and sort out, but the truck didn't squat much so it should be pretty close

Josiah that truck is looking amazing. i have basically the same truck and planning on doing the same lift but with 33s. only thing I'm debating right now is paint.i think ill keep the brown but i want to rhino line along the body line, any suggestions?

jthorngate3 11-09-2011 06:44 AM

I want to rhino line below the lower body line myself, but I want to wait til I get all the little rust I have left over taken care of, and then have the truck painted before I do it. Sadly, I don't know when I will be able to get to that. $500 a month on school loans doesn't make it easy to do much on my truck. The 33's will look great with the lift. I bought my tires before the lift and have LOTS of tread left. The 32's were significantly cheaper when I bought them. Looking forward to seeing your truck done!

JoNRoksIT 11-13-2011 06:02 PM

My truck is in the shop getting new ball joints and a few engine mods, mad ignition, new exhaust. Got a new set if 15s and some new bfg 35x11.5s to compliment the ten inch lift, ladder bars, and fuel cell In the bed. Trying to decide if I want to do an exo roll cage or do it inside also building some tubular doors to throw insuring the nice weather. Also if anyone is doing wheels on a budgr

If Ur wanting to do wheels on a budget my suggestion is to do what I did and get some dirt track racing time the go for like 50-60 a piece most places. I got some black w/ purple time attack Li.es on em for 250 for the set including shipping. Just an idea for .those of us on budgets lol. I'll post pics as soon as I get the truck back to my house as the.shop is an your away..

Blue86 11-13-2011 08:25 PM

Looks to be an eight but I've been atom before. Is it all suspension or is some body lift as well?

jthorngate3 11-14-2011 10:09 PM

That is a significant amount of lift on that truck. Looks good. Stats? I know the feeling of making progress on a truck you work on yourself. Not many things feel better

FourxFour84 11-15-2011 04:22 AM

Thanks man......its 6" rough country suspension and 3" Body Lift, in the picture its sitting on 36s
