I use O'Riellys lifetime warranty rotors and currently have EBC pads on both PSD's. The last pads I had on the F350 were Performance Friction Carbon Metallic's and although they lasted a LOONG time - the EBC's stop ALOT better.

I have Greenstuff (med. dust?) on the X and Yellowstuff (MAX braking) on the F350. :-X22

The EBC's feel more consistent and require less pedal pressure to stop than the other (parts counter) pads I've used in almost 300k miles I've had these trucks. I would expect similar results from the Hawk's.

Proper break-in of pads/rotors is REQUIRED for best performance!!!

I have a set of Hawk LTS pads ready to be installed. I noticed they dont have the "clips" that the crap pads I used last did. Do I need these with the Hawk pads??

I did not put anything on mine other than the glued on shims. They seem to work fine.

With the Hawk pads you do not need anything extra on the pads. They provide a backing plate lubricant which should be used to eliminate any brake squeal caused by metal to metal contact.

Putting the PowerSlot, Hawk LTS combo on the front of my Ex and noticed that the new pads don't have the clip on shim that the OEM pads had. I was going to leave them off....but noticed that the shim has what looks to be like heat sink strips cut out of them exactly where they hit the piston. My 2 cents seems to be that they might help keep the heat from piston or help cool them slightly?. Just a thought....
