Secret compartment under the drink holders
In the center console, remove the 2 sets of drink holders and there is a flat tray that lifts right out revealing yet another compartment.
I thought this was too kool. A good spot for the radar detector, GPS, handgun or whatever. Here is the link on Youtube: ******** style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vAupW30o9FA?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vAupW30o9FA?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390">*********> |
The only way I found this was reading about it on a forum yesterday. It's a very cool hiding spot. I guess I should not have shown it to the wife! LOL
|
Guess it isn't a "secret" compartment anymore.
|
U guys are kidding on the secret compartment right? It's kinda odvious, I thought. There is even a handle/knob to lift it.

It's not so obvious when you've never lifted the cup holders out! ROFL C'mon Shane cut me a break, I've only had my truck 3 weeks.

Nice!
This is why FTE is such a great place - sharing what we know about our trucks! Thanks.
|
Hand guns don't fit into that space very well.
I put some of the various charger cords that I don't use very often, but that I want in truck for when I do need them. I've also stashed Jerky, granola bars etc that I don't want my kids to eat up. Too many folks know about that compartment for me really keep anything of any value |
Don't tell anyone uhmkay?
It's our secret. Sorry, been too busy catching up on work and ATV'n. I wash her and ride, discover all the other stuff as needed. Snub nose 9mm fits right nice.
God Bless and laughed when I called it the secret compartment. BOO! Happy Halloween!:eek: |
it's in the owner's manual, IIRC... not too secret :)
there are two "giant" sized cupholders down there. I used it for that once when I accidentally ordered the biggest drink KFC had to offer. it is like half a gallon! fit nicely in the giant-sized cupholders :) |

Shane It is a great place to put your candy in though on long trips because the A/C runs around it and appears to keep it a bit cooler. I like my gun in the door though, where I barely have to move a muscle to get it. |

You must have gotten an aftermarket JC Whitney part or something, there ain't no knob on it.

On the edge is a raised knob on the lid of the secret comparment.<Secret compartment,...thats funny> Like a raised piece to grab on to. Look closer. Shane |
Now curiosity made me go outside and look. There is a, what I call, a tab to grab onto.
When you said knob I immediately think of a round knob like on a cabinet or something. Either way I guess I didn't pay enough attention to it when I have used it. |
I guess the OP was refering to the Large console with the quad cup holders. I have the other version which has a locking compartment under the flip down console. The dealer never pointed it out and I discovered it a couple of weeks after I got the truck. I found it very useful for stowing my gun while traveling through the "libral" States" like MD,NJ,NY ect.
