frontend in 86 in f250

I have an 86 F250 4x4 with a 351W and C6 tranny. Its a twin I Beam. I was wondering what type of frontend it is. I believe its a Dana 44 with reverse cut ring and pinion but im not sure. The number on the axle housing is: P 345 1
41582 303
and the tag on the front end says: 345 E6TA JB
610264 2

Thanks

it could be a twin traction beam, looks like you have 3.45:1 gears. i am not too knowledgeable in 4x4s i have a 4x2. good luck.

I am not 100% on codes on the Dana front; however, a couple easy pointers:

if your u-joints on your front axle have C-shaped clips on the inside of the axle, its a dana 44TTB.

if the u-joints have snap rings on the outside (like your driveshaft), its a dana 50TTB

also, if you're GWVR is 8600 or under, you have a Dana 44TTB, if its over 8600 (like 8750), you have a Dana 50TTB.

I've only seen Dana 50s under extended cab F-250s. (for the extra weight i assume). if you have a snow plowing package, you might have one as well.

as for gear ratios, on your door tag, if your axle code says "33", it should be 3.54, 35 i believe is 4.11.

also, afaik, all 4x4 front ends on f-series are reverse rotation high-pinion, which takes a different ring gear than say a chevy or jeep dana 44.
