What mods do you have done to your truck?

Well Jim I really liked the idea I'll post it up in the 7.3L section as well.

Basicly what all do you have done right now.

I currently have on my 2000 7.3L:

DP-Tuner, Isspro Gauges, 4in exhaust before the rear wheel exit, 140V IDM mod, Intank Mods, AIH Delete, Stancor GPR, 6637 W/ Petes Cover,

CCV W/ Rons filter, King Ranch Running boards, 07 Mirrors, 02 Headlights with silverstars, Wicked wheel on the turbo, Tennessee Walking Horse Grill, B&W Gooseneck ball, cab lights added, Powerslot Rotors to go on along with Hawk LTS Pads, Foil Delete W/ Ford Blue painted up pipes, back up lights, Warn Hubs,

I also have a Van turbo, black CPS, and DPP IC boots to add onto the truck as well.

Come on all you non-7.3ers! You're allowed to post here too ya know!

I've got an MBRP 4" turbo-back sitting in the truck bed still inside the box and a set of Performax gauges on the way as well as a 6637 intake w/one of other Pete's covers as well as some CCV parts.

Waiting for buster brown!

displacement4me 04-08-2009 09:00 PM

I am in 'current mod mode' for my '85 rebuild. Rust took the bed sides and cab corners so I'm taking care of that with new paint. The 351W and C6 is tired so I'm swapping that with a 460 and Tremec 5spd.

It was my first vehicle, so I decided to keep it and spend the money to make it my own. It should be up and running around July or August (hopefully).

DH8838 04-09-2009 05:38 AM

Exterior mods for me, raised it 6" put 38s on it, painted it and decaled it. Next is the engine.

Neat thread, I haven't done this in a while... Heres my 95 and the "new" 81... My only regret is their both regular cabs:-X18

http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/IMAG0625.jpg
My favorite mod... Cost all of about $12 at .50 a letter...
http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/IMAG0627.jpg

http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...IMAG0628-1.jpg
I hate that steering wheel, it needs to be replaced with something bigger.. But I like that seat cover...
This trucks a mess right now cause it needs a new alternator before I'll drive it anywhere... Next thing its getting is CB antennas on the mirrors, its got a Cobra 29...

http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/IMAG0624.jpg
http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/IMAG0630.jpg
Gotta have air horns...
http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/IMAG0629.jpg
The dash is all torn apart, the ignition rack broke... Haven't decided what to do, if anything, about that...
At night this truck looks like a Christmas tree I've been told... Not everybody likes lights as much as I do I guess...

They both run and are paid for...

FarmingFord 04-14-2009 08:08 PM

Justin,
You have a great looking truck. It looks like the kind of truck I will buy after college. 8D
As for the mods to my truck, Heated Tow Mirrors, Tool Box, and does a John Deere sticker in the rear window and John Deere antenna topper count? lol :-missingt

Dual ram intake, 5"stack, bucket seats, 5-speed in place of the 4-speed.

that sounds sweet. I would love to see pics. I rebuilt the dash on my 1970 13 foot whaler out of mahogany. what are you going to use to protect it from sun and such.

V1GiLaNtE 04-15-2009 09:48 PM

Not much for me.. 31x10.5xR15 BFG AT's, K&N drop in, rattle can painted wheels, alpine deck.. Basic maintence stuff...

F250FarmBoy 04-16-2009 06:51 AM

Well right now, it doesn't see too much light of day. Its more of a 2-3 times a month hauler and the occasional "special occasion" trip to school in it.

But as for the finish, I was planning on applying 3-4+ coats of polyurethane. What did you do to protect the mahogany mstiles?

I chose the walnut because I have a few boards left over from when they built the hard-wood floors. Its "special" wood because it came from a tree on our property and dad had it cut/kilned dried/milled to use as flooring. Also all the floor, window, door, etc. moldings came from our own trees.....kinda neat

thats pretty cool. I used spar varnish on the boat but every year i had to sand it and apply another coat or else it wouldnt look good. It was a bit of a pain but i guess thats what i get for leaving it uncovered and in the water all summer.

builtfordtough13 06-01-2009 11:21 PM

On my 94: K & N drop in filter, 3 in exhaust with a gutted cat and a magnaflow high flow cat, and a light up ford trailer hitch cover. Soon: Shorty headers, new headpipe, e-fan, and a leveling kit.

78: Cherry Bomb muffler, air cleaner, after market mirrors. Soon: Carb, cam, intake, 3.70 gears, shift kit, headers, new exhaust back to cherry bomb.

jimbo beam 06-02-2009 03:40 AM

lets see here, on my 86 F150...

351 bored .030 over (truck started life with a 300 six), Eagle Forged crank, h beam rods, and dished pistons. Crane xtreme energy cam. Although my sig says gt40s shes now sporting at set of World Products Windsor Sr heads. Weiand stealth intake, holly 650. Msd 6A box, billet distributor, and coil. Becool monster 4row radiator, 24 inch junk yard find electronic fan w/ home made shroud. Smog pump deleted, egr deleted, cats deleted, pcv deleted, and all but 3 vacuum lines deleted. Basically she complies with zero smog regulations now, just the way I like it.

Rebuilt C6, dominator torque converter, B&M racing manual valve body, B&M truck floor shifter (not yet installed) finned high capacity tranny plug w/ drain plug. 12x18 inch Becool tranny fluid cooler.

Headman long tubes, 2.5 inch true duals with glasspacks, exits through 3 inch chrome tips infront of the rear tires.

3G 130 amp alternator, 1200 CCA battery, zero gauge cables, hi torque starter. head light relay mod. Autometer oil pressure, volt meter, water temp, tranny temp, and vacuum gauges. Sony explode CD deck and speakers, 6.5 inch 4-ways in the doors and 4-way 6x9s behind the seat.

I've rewired everything from the alternator to the tail lights. I've replaced every piece of the fuel system. I've replaced or re-engineered every piece of the braking system. I've upgraded the front brakes to 2 piston F250 calipers with high performance pads and slotted rotors.

Ive added front and rear sway bars, they're rebuilt stockers from a F250. I've added several leafs the the rear springs along with a set of overloads, I've also added F250 front springs. I've replaced every bushing with poly aftermarket units

I rebuilt the 9 inch rear, added 3.73 gears and a true track locker.

I don't even wanna know how much money I've spent on that truck, all the work has been done by myself over a matter of about 8 years, I've had this truck since I was 17. Since the body is starting to look like absolute hell I'm gather parts for a 92-96 era facelift, as long as a 92-96 era cab and bed swap. I'm in to deep now, might as well keep her forever lol.

As for my 96 F150 shes currently under the knife. I just finished rebuilding/refreshing the bottom end of my 5.0 this last weekend. Over the next few weekends I'll be installing a set of gt40 heads, '93 cobra upper and lower intake, BBK 75mm throttle body, E303 cam, and dynomax coated long tubes. A buddy of mine is gonna rig me up a 2.25 inch dual exhaust system with no cats, and a set of Corsa DB Black series mufflers.

I've already done several small things to that truck. Installed a cd player, pioneer speakers and 500 watt amp. Added a soft tonneau cover, although I've had a hard fiberglass cover sitting in my basement waiting for paint for quite a while. Had a Line-x bed liner installed, added a few gauges, mudflaps, and I'm sure several other little things I cant think of at the moment.

And I have a 82 F100 laying around my garage in a few thousand pieces. I've got a complete rust free body frankensteined outta several mismatched colored pieces. I've also got all the pieces for a 460/c6 swap, and a 3/5 drop. Just need to find the time to put the damn thing together. That's the first vehicle I ever owned, been with me since I was 15. Started taking it apart a few years ago when the engine blew, just haven't got around to putting it back together yet. I'd hate to know how much money I've sank into that thing too. Its worth it though, just couldn't stand the thought of my first love going to the junkyard.

My Lizzy is retired for the most part so she does'nt really get any mods...yet. But as far as Silvia is concerned......Washed it.......4 months ago. Thats it. If it were a different truck maybe. But not this one. I see all these and begin to really, Really, not like the one I have. Damn near 10 years old, 154,xxx miles, no power anything 'cept brakes (which are getting weak.) and steering. After a good rain, good luck getting the driver window back up after is been down...She's a good truck and it could be worse, Could be stuck with a Dodge K car. But still....I envy almost every last one of you......

Here is a pic of her anyway:
http://i413.photobucket.com/albums/p...e10e367507.jpg

But my '66 Is a little different, She has a 4bbl Edelbrock carb 650cfm with intake and air cleaner, custom leaking exhaust with muffler delete option and custom faded/chipping paint. With age defined floorpan ventalation.
This is right after I bought her.

Last summer I swapped in a 5.9 12v Cummins out of a 96 Dodge with an NV4500 behind the engine. Current mods are BHAF, exhaust, and ISSPRO pyro/boost gauges. The first stage of mods will take place this coming summer and include: plate and AFC work, 5x.014 injectors, either a 62/65/12 or 63/68/14 turbo, and a South Bend dual disk clutch with 1 3/8" upgraded input shaft. Goal of 500hp with this setup.

Next round of mods (couple of years down the road) will be upgraded delivery valves (possibly laser cuts) and a twin setup using the current (then) as a primary and either a HTB3 or S400 as a secondary. Also water/meth injection. Goal is close to 700hp with this setup.

BTW, ignore the stack in the pic. Its not really there.

Any plans for axle upgrades, that 8.8 wont hold up for long against a cummins!

Yeah dude I've got the money for a stronger axle, just kinda waitin to see what happens. Im considering going with a 9" if i stay with a 5 lug, may have to upgrade to an 8 lug though. 4 months and 4k miles later the 8.8 is holdin strong! But its also part of the reason Im keepin the engine basically stock at the moment.
